Obituary – Shirley Lorraine Hetzel

Shirley Lorraine Hetzel, 83, of Mill Hall, passed away on Oct. 29, 2024 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa.
Shirley was born in Lock Haven, Pa., to Florence and Raymond Mann on Feb. 12, 1941.
She worked at the Silk Mill, IGA, Bobby Brooks and Champion Parts.
She loved playing Bingo in Dunnstown, Antes Fort, Red Eye Center and at the Mill Hall Fire Company. She loved to travel, enjoyed watching game shows and indulging in ice cream, sweets and fish sandwiches.
Shirley was loved by her children, Richard R. Hetzel, Jr. (Susan), of Mill Hall, Mark A. Hetzel (Janice), of Sarasota, Fla., and Scott W. Hetzel, Joy M. Baney (William) and Crystal LM Newberry (Matthew), all of Mill Hall.
She was also loved by her grandchildren, Tracy Chaffin (Dustin), Tammy Hetzel, William, Jr. (Cortney) and Felicia Baney. She was also loved by her great-grandchildren, Austin, Mackenzie and Hunter Chaffin and Nathan and Grace Baney.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Raymond and Florence Mann; her husband, Richard R. Hetzel, Sr.; a daughter, Tina Marie Hetzel; and her brothers, Junior Mann and Bob Mann.
Funeral services will be at the Gedon Funeral Homes, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, at 12 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Mark Riley of the Flemington First Church of Christ. Burial services will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 47 Rest Haven Drive, Lock Haven, Pa.
Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Geisinger Medical Center. Special thank you to Dr. Allyson Haas and Nurse leader Alaina Gordner for providing excellent care to Shirley and her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Shirley’s name to the Clinton County SPCA, 33 Mill Hill Road, Lock Haven, PA 17745.
