Obituary – William C. Frantz

William C. Frantz, 95, of Tylersville, PA passed away October 11, 2024 at UPMC Haven Place in Lock Haven, PA. He was born on May 27, 1929 in Tylersville, PA and was the son of the late Paul B. and Ida Somerville Frantz, and was married May 22, 1955, to Evelyn Lorraine (Duke) Frantz, who survives, for over 69 years.

Bill was a graduate of the Sugar Valley High School, Class of 1947; upon graduation he served in Korea with the U.S. Army. He worked as a PPL lineman, as a mechanic at Adam C. Dickey in Lock Haven.  He had worked at Piper Aircraft as an aircraft mechanic for 37 years. He was a life member of Post 444 American Legion of Millheim and also a life member of the Lock Haven Moose.  He started shooting with the Bald Eagle Rifle League at the age of ten during WWII. He loved his mountain land and was well-known for his knowledge of trees & timbering and spending time there with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine, two sons Curtis Frantz at home and Chris (Terri) Frantz, Tylersville.  Three grandchildren, Misty (Toby) Stine, Centre Hall, Michael (Amber) Frantz, Tylersville and Melissa (Nick) Mayers, Raleigh NC, also surviving are seven great grandchildren, nephew David (Jean) Frantz, Flemington, and Cousin David (Karen) Frantz, Avis and other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by two brothers Bruce (Dorothy dec) and Tom (Marlene), and a sister Margaret (Peggy) Frantz Eames.

Public graveside services with full Military Honors for William C. Frantz, will be held on Monday October 28th, at 2 pm in the Tylersville Cemetery.  Officiating will be Bill’s grandson, Michael C. Frantz.
