Lock Haven Softball lands five on 2024 CSC Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Lock Haven softball team had five student-athletes honored on the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday (May 28).

Keiva Middleton (Willow Street, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg), Kinley Gioglio (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg), Maci Brodzina (Warriors Mark, Pa./Tyrone), Riley McClellan (Granville Summit, Pa./Troy) and Summer Peters (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) brought home the honor for their contributions in the class room and on the diamond during the 2023-24 academic year.

Middleton finished her sophomore year with a 3.71 GPA as a member of the sports management department.

McClellan, who broke the all-time career stolen base record as a senior, recorded a 3.57 during her senior season as a health and physical education major.

Brodzina secured a 3.74 GPA during her sophomore season as a health and physical education major.

Giolglio earned her under graduate degree in business administration, before registering a perfect 4.0 in her first year as a graduate student at Lock Haven.

Peters, who wrapped up a record-breaking career as an outfielder for the Bald Eagles, finished her senior season with a 3.60 GPA as a health science-pre-professional.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 18. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
