Wildcats crown three champs at PHAC track

DANVILLE, PA – The Central Mountain track and field team crowned three individual winners in last Saturday’s annual PHAC Championships at Danville High School. Team scores saw the boys’ team finish 11th in a field of 19; the girls 10th in a field of 19.
Brett Gerlach and Lily Hendricks paced the CM showing, Gerlach leaping 6-4 to claim the high jump and Hendricks going 37-9 ½ for the triple jump title. Gerlach added a fourth in the triple jump and Hendricks a fourth in the long jump.
Anton Stratts took the discus title with a toss of 154-5. Place-winners included Grace Rizzo, fifth in the discus and Alyssa VanGorder, eighth in the shot put.
The Wildcat teams observed Senior Day at their Mill Hall complex on May 10 and will compete in the District 6 championships at Altoona’s Mansion Park on Thursday.
