CM’s Stratts sets new school mark in discus; Millionaires down Wildcats
WILLIAMSPORT, PA – Williamsport took both sides of a track and field meet with Central Mountain High School on Tuesday, but the Wildcat performance featured a record-breaking showing from senior Anton Stratts and multiple first-place finishes on both the boys’ and girls’ sides.
Stratts, coming off a football season injury, has returned to form in recent weeks and hit a personal and school-record high in the discus. His winning toss was 154’13”. That broke the previous record, 152’8”, set by Loc Long.
While the boys’ fell to the Millionaires by a 106-44 score, they received three first places from Michael Cashwell, winning the 800, 1600 and 3200 meters. Other first places came from the 4×100 relay team, Brett Gerlach in the high jump and Logan Dawes in the shot put.
Sophomore Lily Hendricks made the headlines on the girls’ side, taking firsts in the high jump, long jump and triple jump. Rachel Hall took two events, the 100 and the pole vault. Macy Plowman won the 200 meters, as did the 4×400 relay team. The final team score was Williamsport 88, Central Mountain 63.
Next up for Central Mountain is the Altoona Invitational on Friday.
