Delores Hope “Dee” Taylor, loving wife and mother, 85, of Lock Haven, PA passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA.
She was born on February 16, 1936, in Lock Haven, grew up in Washington, DC, the daughter of the late Ardell Fravel and Emma Elizabeth (Waterman) Barnard. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Leonard Fravel.
On March 21, 1964 she married H. Lyle Taylor in Lock Haven, PA, who survives at home.
Delores was a devoted daughter, sister and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She led a selfless life doting on her family, always devoting her time to her children, grandchildren and praising God for all her life’s many blessings.
Delores worked as an accountant for various companies during her career. She enjoyed many artistic hobbies like quilting and stained glass. She also volunteered her time setting up the shoe bank and sewing club at the United Methodist Church in Lock Haven, PA.
In addition to her husband Lyle, she is survived by 7 children, Karen Cleaves wife of Joany Collins, Welles, ME; Kathryn Raubenhold of Canton, CN; Kimberly Caffrey of Knoxville, TN; Robert (Chip) Hockenberry, husband of Heidi, Green Cove Springs, FL; Step-daughter Deborah Boyer, wife of John, Lock Haven, PA; Jeffery Hockenberry, husband of Diane, Burgettstown, PA and Tracey Heffernan of Cockeysville, MD. 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:00 A.M., at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High Street, Flemington, PA 17745 with Rev. Susan Champion officiating.
Friends and family will be received for visitation at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in the memory of Delores Taylor can be made through the funeral home to the Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank.
