Kraig Michael Morris, 56, of Lock Haven went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at his home.
Born May 8, 1965 in Bitburg, Germany, he was a son of James and Vivian Morris of Dunlo.
Kraig graduated from Greater Johnstown Area Vocational Technical School in 1983 and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Thomas Edison State University. He later earned his Masters of Divinity from Liberty University.
He spent over 20 years in the military, entering into the Air Force and retiring from the Army Reserve in 2008. During his time in the service, he received various commendations as well as numerous medals and ribbons. In 2005, he served a tour in Kuwait. By the time of his retirement, he had earned the rank of Staff Sergeant.
On February 27, 2004, Kraig married his love, the former Linda M. Kephart, with whom he shared 17 years of marriage.
Kraig was employed by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), serving most recently at Little Pine State Park.
He was an Ordained Chaplain and served as Chaplain of the Howard Fire Company.
In addition to the Howard Fire Company, he was a member of the American Legion, VFW, UCFM-Chaplain Ministries, National Volunteer Fire Council, The 1st Calvary Division Association, 28th Infantry Division Association, Association of US Army, The Armed Forces Retirees Association and many more.
Kraig enjoyed fishing, baseball and the outdoors. Overall, he enjoyed spending time with his family- especially joking and playing with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Linda M. Morris of Lock Haven, he is survived by his mother, Vivian Morris of Williamsport; two children: Hannah Morris of Pittsburgh and Joseph Morris of Johnstown; his step-daughter, Heather Hall of Lock Haven; a brother, James (Laura) Morris of Idaho; two sisters, Kelly (Dr. John) Pellegrino of Williamsport and Gretchen Morris Brubaker of Homer City; his cherished grandchildren, Madilynn and Landon; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Morris.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 1:30 P.M. at Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745. Burial with Military Rites will follow at Houserville Cemetery, State College.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions in Kraig’s name may be made to either the Wounded Warrior Project or the Sarcoidosis Foundation through the funeral home.
