Carl George Brungard, Jr.

Obituary

Carl George Brungard, Jr., 57, of Blanchard, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 at UPMC Williamsport Hospital.

Born March 9, 1964, Carl was the son of Carl G. Sr. and Catherine Duck Brungard, who survive in Mackeyville.

Carl was a 1982 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School.

On October 26, 1999 in Lock Haven, he married the love of his life, the former Cindy M. Probst, who survives at home.

Carl was actively serving as a Liberty Township Supervisor and as President of the Forest of Bald Eagle Home Owner’s Association. He was also a member of the East End Hunting Camp in Lamar Twp.

In April of this year, Carl and his wife acquired Rest Haven Memorial Park after 12 years of his employment at the cemetery. Owning and operating the cemetery was an endeavor that Carl long dreamed of and he would often vocalize his incredible pride and honor in having the opportunity to help so many families who were navigating through their difficult times over his years of service at the cemetery – which was the true motivator behind his determination. Although Carl’s mission to continue that passion of helping others was cut far too short, he would be more than proud to know that his legacy will live large as his family honors him in continuing his dream with the values of hard work, patience, and compassion that he instilled in each of them.

Carl was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. His most cherished time was spent fishing on his boat at Sayers Dam with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Carl is survived by three children, Amanda (Shaun Long) Brungard, Nicole (Austin Short) Brungard and Brandon (Jessica) Brungard, all of Lock Haven; two step-sons, Jason (Storm) Probst of Virginia and Anthony (Brooke) Bettilyon of Maryland; two brothers, Charles “Chuck” (Julie) Brungard of Salona and Calvin (Sue) Brungard of Rote; a sister, Chris (Larry) Garbrick of East End; his mother-in-law, Judith Francis Butler of McConnellsburg; seven grandchildren: Charlee, Amelia, Ashlyn, Daniel, Hayes, Regan and Grayson; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Thomas Butler.

A time of viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High Street, Flemington, PA 17745.

Private burial services will take place at the convenience of the family at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.

Carl held a special place in his heart for Veteran’s and the sacrifice they made for our country. Therefore, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Jersey Shore Honor Guard, a group Carl worked with often and respected greatly.
