Lewisburg Outpaces Lady ‘Cats, 4-1
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – It was another tough outing for the Lady Wildcat soccer team as they fell to visiting Lewisburg, 4-1 at Malinak Stadium Tuesday evening.
Central Mountain kept the game within reach in the first period with the Lady Green Dragons holding a slim 1-0 lead off a score by Sophie Kilbride at 29:06.
Lewisburg picked up the pace later in the game, scoring 2 more goals in the first 17 minutes of the second period with Ella Reish putting the ball in the back of the net at 37:55 and 23:13 respectively.
Central Mountain finally got on the board with 14:05 remaining in the game when Avery Baker scored off the assist by Taylor Campbell.
Lewisburg would add an insurance goal from Mikala Long with 5:03 remaining.
The Lady Dragons also held the edge on corner kicks, 3-0 and shots on goal, 9-1.
Maddison Briggs picked up 3 saves on the night for CM.
Lewisburg improves to 9-3-1 while Central Mountain drops to 1-13.
The Lady Wildcats will return to action when they host Shamokin on Thursday, October 15, 2020 with the varsity game set for 6:30 p.m. There will be no JV game.
