Lady ‘Cat Tennis Valiant in 4-1 D6 Loss to Altoona
ALTOONA – The Central Mountain girls’ tennis team closed out their 2020 campaign with a 4-1 loss to undefeated Altoona in the District 6 AAA team tournament, Monday afternoon at Mansion Par.
The Lady Wildcats met the Lady Mountain Lions in the semi-final round with Altoona’s Isabella Frank defeating CM’s Carolina Carpenetti, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles while Morgan Stevens picked up another Altoona win over Lady ‘Cat, Olivia Anastos, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 2 singles. Kati Kwiatek picked up Central Mountain’s lone win with a tie-breaker defeat over Altoona’s Emily Neil, 6-7, 6-2, 10-4 at No. 2 singles.
In doubles action, it was the Little Lion duo of Eve Hogan and Emma Skelly defeating CM’s Caitlyn Dale and Ella Talbot, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles with Brooklyn Rupert and Mya Crownover of the Lady Mountain Lions closing out the day with a 6-1, 6-2, win over the Lady Wildcat tandem of Claire Long and Zeta Blesh, 6-1, 6-2.
Central Mountain finishes the 2020 season at 13-2 and a PHAC championship while Altoona improves to 14-0.
