William “Bill” E. Jones – Obituary

ELMIRA, NY – William E. Jones, age 88 of Elmira, NY passed away Friday December 13, 2013 following a brief illness. He is survived by son, William E. “Bill” (Debi) Jones Jr., daughter, Debi (Jim) Urbanski; step-children, Herbert “Chuck” (Mary Lynne) Furman, Michele (Dominic) Peters, Darlene (John) McKinney, and Lisa (Joe) Caccia; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Predeceased by his wife Shirley. He was the former chief of the Southport Volunteer Fire Department where he served over 50 years and was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII having served on the battleship Wisconsin. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM with funeral and committal service there at the conclusion of calling hours, Friday at 6:00 PM.

Interment will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. In Lieu of flowers those wishing may make a donation to the Southport Volunteer Fire Department in Bill’s memory.
