Bald Eagle Township Supervisors Meet for July Meeting

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Bald Eagle Township Supervisors met Monday evening for their July meeting.

No updated information was presented regarding the Wawa project. Township and county engineers have about 60 days remaining to either fully approve the plans for the build, or conditionally approve the plans.

In the meantime, supervisors updated those in attendance about the Sheetz rebuild project beginning tentatively in March 2026.

Plans include a rebuild of the entire building with the addition of another gas pump and an additional air pump. Representatives of Sheetz say the project could take at least five months until completion and reopening.

In other news, line and stop bar painting in the township may be taking place soon with a $7,000 quote being received versus a $21,000 quote from another organization. Supervisors again referred to using what they currently have on hand for painting.

Pending PennDOT approval of permits, the Draketown Road project will soon be moving to cross Hogan Boulevard. “From AutoZone to the OIP Mill Hall restaurant, the boulevard will have temporary lane closures for night work,” supervisor Steve Tasselli said.

Supervisors are also continuing to review retirement investment plans for township employees.

Information is currently being exchanged with the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors (PSATS) to review retirement options. An additional funded program is also being reviewed and more information on this will be disclosed in the future.

Under new business, supervisor Tasselli brought up the past purchase of a leaf vacuum that hasn’t been used as often as planned.

“We bought it about four or five years ago and hoped we would be using it much more but we think it’s too bulky for some of the dead end roads when trying to maneuver it,” he said.

Tasselli brought up the idea of listing it for sale, but the idea was not favorable with other supervisors.

Supervisors also gave permission to Secretary/Treasurer Marissa Morgan to begin “shopping around” for new office phones, citing that the cost was too high for the current “call waiting” and “caller ID” system currently in place.
