Obituary – John Joseph Dwyer
John Joseph Dwyer, 86, of Ocala, FL, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025. Born on March 1, 1939, in Renovo, Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of Dr. John Mark Dwyer and Elizabeth Russell Dwyer. John (known as “JJ” in those early years) grew up in Renovo alongside his four brothers: Michael, Luke, Kevin, and William, forging lifelong bonds in a close-knit family.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, John served his country with honor before embarking on a successful career as a real estate broker, where his integrity and dedication earned him respect and admiration. After retiring, he devoted himself to his passions: his family, his loyal dogs, spirited political discussions, and cheering for his cherished Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
John’s greatest joy was his family. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 35 years, Carol Argiro Dwyer, 92, whose love was his anchor. He is also survived by his sons, John Mark Dwyer II and his wife Nilmarie, William Daniel Dwyer and his wife Sarah, and their mother, Marguerite Dwyer. His brothers Luke and Kevin, along with countless friends, nieces, nephews, and extended family, will carry his memory forward. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Michael and William.
Known for his warmth, wit, and unwavering loyalty, John’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. His love for life, family, and a good Notre Dame game will forever inspire those he touched.
