Renovo Community Choir to Hold Spring Concert “Put A Little Love in Your Heart”

RENOVO – The Renovo Area Community Choir will be presenting their Spring Concert “Put a Little Love in Your Heart”, Sunday May 4, 2025 at 2:00 pm. First United Methodist Church, 7th Street Renovo, will once again be hosting the concert. The choir is under the direction of Patricia Lacy with rehearsal accompaniment by Brandon Kahley, music teacher at Bucktail Area High School.
All you need is love! Join us for an afternoon of music with some of your favorite tunes celebrating LOVE. We start off the concert with “Put a Little Love in Your Heart” from the 1969 Jackie DeShannon hit, followed by a swing arrangement of “You Made Me Love You” featuring Brandon Kahley on trumpet.
Two Beatles’ hits are combined in a medley – “In My Life” and “Can’t Buy Me Love”. Greg Gilpin has written a soulful arrangement of “Never My Love”, a choir favorite. In 1963 John Lennon and Paul McCartney teamed up for the fun number, “She Loves You”. If you’ve attended any of our concerts, you will recognize the timeless Righteous Brothers number, “Unchained Melody”.
From the fifties we will sing “That’s Amore”! Before the Dixie Chicks there were the Dixie Cups who recorded “Chapel of Love” in 1964, performed by the women of the choir. Many will remember Neil Sedaka’s hit, “Calendar Girl”. We’ve chosen two Jersey Boys numbers in a medley, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” and “Who Loves You”. With a little gospel flair we perform a Burt Bacharach favorite, “What the World Needs Now” featuring Autumn Gavlock. Our concert concludes with the beautiful and powerful, “Love Changes Everything”.
We are also featuring three special numbers. Kedda Bissman will perform “Songbird” by Fleetwood Mac. Autumn Gavlock will pay homage to Dolly Parton with “I Will Always Love You”, and Courtney Billings will entertain us with a Connie Francis’ number, “Stupid Cupid”.
Thank you for allowing us to share this concert with you! We look forward to seeing you there!
Every day in every way possible share the gift of love. Our concert is dedicated to our dear friend, Terry O’Laughlin. As Terry would remind us, “It’s All Good”.
“Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love.” ~ essayist Hamilton Wright Mabie. For each season may love be the gift you receive and give the most.
