LHU Men’s Wrestling lands three on All-MAC Academic Team

CLEVELAND – Anthony Noto, Colin Fegley and Avery Bassett of the Lock Haven men’s wrestling team were named to the Mid-American Conference (MAC) All-Academic Team, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

The 2024-25 Wrestling Academic All-MAC Team featured a total of 75 student-athletes from the conference’s 13 teams.

Bald Eagles standouts Bassett (Criminal Justice, 3.87), Noto (MC Sport Management, 3.87) and Fegley (MS Sport & Performance Psychology, 3.87) were selected to the Academic All-MAC Team.

The trio all helped lead Lock Haven to the 2024-25 MAC Team Title for the third time in four years, while all three also qualified for the 2025 NCAA Men’s Wrestling National Championship in Philadelphia.

Noto became the first four-time MAC Individual Champion and went on to compete in his fourth consecutive NCAA National Championship, where he racked up a pair of wins.

Bassett placed third at the Conference Championship to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship for the first time.

Fegley went 22-12 as a red-shirt senior and earned his first NCAA Championship appearance.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests scheduled or completed in the particular sport.

First-year students and ANY transfer in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.

Outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments for the current season only are considered.
