Brackets, seeds released for 2025 NCAA DI Men’s Wrestling Championship
INDIANAPOLIS – Tonight (Wednesday, March 12), the NCAA released the pre-tournament seeds and brackets for the upcoming 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Wrestling Championship, and six Bald Eagles will make the trip to Philadelphia.
The 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Wrestling Championship is set for March 20-22 (Thurs. – Sat.) at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Anthony Noto (133), Wyatt Henson (141), Avery Bassett (174), Colin Fegley (184), Tucker Hogan (197) and Gavin Hoffman (285) are all set to compete for Lock Haven. Nick Stompoulos also earned an alternate spot at 157 pounds.
Last weekend, The Haven won the 2025 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship in Trenton New Jersey, marking their third conference title in four seasons.
Noto, Henson and Hoffman all brought home individual MAC titles to earn automatic berths to the NCAA Division I Championships, while Bassett qualified via the NCAA MAC allocations after placing third at the MAC Championships at 174 pounds.
Tucker Hogan and Colin Fegley earned at-large bids on Tuesday, voted and selected by the NCAA Committee. Hogan and Fegley helped lead the Bald Eagles to the MAC Championship with second and fourth-place finishes at their respective weight classes.
Noto earned the 15th seed in his first season at 133 pounds. Noto went 3-0 to sour to his fourth straight MAC individual title, becoming the first athlete in program history to achieve the milestone and the tenth in MAC history. Noto wrestled to All-American honors at the 2024 NCAA Championships at 125 pounds, becoming the 45th All-American in program history.
Henson was seeded No. 16 at 141 pounds. Henson went a perfect 4-0 to secure his second straight MAC Championship at 141 pounds and clinched his second straight NCAA appearance as a Bald Eagle. Henson racked up three tech falls at the conference championship and is now ranked third in the nation with 13 tech falls on the year.
Hoffman was seeded No. 14 at 285 pounds. Hoffman, a graduate transfer from Ohio State brings a dominate resume with him to this year’s championship and is now a three-time NCAA qualifier. Hoffman, who earned All-American status with the Buckeyes in 2022, went 4-0 at the MAC Championships to clinch the title at heavy weight in his first season at Lock Haven.
Basset is seeded No. 31 at 174 pounds. Bassett fought his way through the consolation bracket and went 3-0 on the final day of the MAC Championships, which he capped off by winning the third-place match to secure a spot at Nationals.
Hogan, who is seeded No. 29 at 174 pounds, had an impressive freshman season and secured one of two NCAA at-large selections. Hogan was one of four Bald Eagles to wrestle to a MAC individual title match after going 2-0 at the conference championships. Hogan fell in a narrow 7-4 decision to No. 3 seed Brock Zurawski (Rider) to earn silver.
Fegley was also an at-large NCAA selection and is seeded No. 30 at 184 pounds. Fegley secured a fourth-place finish at 184 pounds after racking up four victories, including a pair of consolation wins on Saturday.
