Central Mountain Rolls Past Midd-West with Balanced Scoring
MILL HALL – The Central Mountain girls basketball team hosted Midd-West Friday night and delivered a dominant performance, defeating the Mustangs 62-33. The Wildcats displayed a balanced offensive attack, with four players scoring in double figures.
Sophomore Camdyn Weaver led the Wildcats with 20 points, while Lena Walker added 17. Ava Doyle chipped in 14 points, and Taylor Doyle contributed 11 to cap off a strong team performance. Macy Plowman also scored 2 points.
Central Mountain came out firing, putting up 21 points in the first quarter while holding Midd-West to just 6. The Wildcats extended their lead through the second and third quarters, outscoring Midd-West 17-8 and 18-7, respectively. Although Midd-West found some offensive rhythm in the fourth quarter with 12 points, Central Mountain’s defense ensured the win by limiting their own scoring to 6 but maintaining a comfortable lead.
Central Mountain, now looking to build on this momentum, will travel to Selinsgrove on Tuesday for a key conference matchup.
