LHU’s Madeline Evans tabbed PSAC East Women’s Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week
LOCK HAVEN – Reigning NCAA DII National Player of the Week Madeline Evans of the Lock Haven women’s basketball team continued her run of weekly honors and was named this week’s Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday (Dec. 23).
Evans, who is fresh off being named the WBCA/D2CIDA National Player of the Week (Dec. 10), earned her third conference of the week award this season and her second on the defensive end.
Evans continues to dominate inside for the Bald Eagles and did so once again last week when she led Lock Haven to a pair of victories, including taking down No. 4 Gannon in thrilling fashion.
Evans recorded a steal in all three games last week, while blocking a pair of shots against Edinboro.
In the victory over Gannon, Evans scored 17 points and pulled in nine rebounds.
The conference leader in rebounds, Evans pulled in 8.5 rebounds per game last week and is averaging 11.9 this season.
After going 2-1 last week, the Bald Eagles improved to 8-3 overall and Lock Haven now sits 3-2 in PSAC action.
