Addison Lindsay Makes History as Central Mountain’s First Female PIAA AAA State Champion
HERSHEY – Central Mountain sophomore Addison Lindsay made history on Saturday, becoming the first female athlete from Central Mountain to capture a PIAA state title. Lindsay achieved this milestone with a commanding 6-2, 6-4 victory over Josie Volk of Fox Chapel in the PIAA Class AAA Girls’ Tennis final at the Hershey Racquet Club.
Lindsay’s path to the championship showcased her strength and composure. She began the tournament with a solid 6-2, 6-2 win over Taryn Zerby of Mechanicsburg in the first round and advanced to the quarterfinals, where she defeated Grace Piro of Central Bucks South 6-4, 6-2. In the semifinals, Lindsay continued her impressive form, setting the stage for her showdown with Volk in the final.
In the title match, Lindsay controlled the pace and dominated crucial points to secure her historic victory. Her win not only earned her the PIAA Class AAA championship but also brought home Central Mountain’s first-ever state title for a female athlete.
