Leroy McDowell Walker – Obituary

ObitArtLeroy McDowell Walker, 80, of 208 Pennsylvania Ave., Renovo, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at his home.

He was born in Orviston on November 4, 1933, the son of the late McDowell and Mary Walker.

Leroy was a graduate of Temple University, obtaining his Bachelor Degree in Finance.

He was a Veteran of the United States Navy.

On May 30, 1953, he married the former JoAnne Marsh, who survives in Renovo.

Leroy was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Renovo. He was also a member of the Renovo CTA, the Renovo Area Public Library, the Greater Renovo Area Heritage Park and the Western Clinton County Sportsmen’s Association.

In addition to his wife, JoAnne, he is survived by his children, Cynthia (Tom) Doan of Fairless Hills, David (Geri) Walker of Croydon, Mike (Dottie) Walker of Bensalem and Debra (David) Clausson of Arizona; two brothers, Frank (Donna) Walker of Lock Haven and Joe (Diana) Walker of New Jersey; and multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 1 pm at the First United Methodist Church, 127 7th St., Renovo, with Rev. Doug Conway officiating.

Burial will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, Pa.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the First United Methodist Church of Renovo or the Western Clinton County Sportsmen’s Association.
