Rededication of relocated Clinton County war memorials set for August 24
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Clinton County government has announced that a rededication for two displaced war memorials will be held on Thursday, Aug. 24 at 11 a.m. on the west side of the county’s Piper Building, the memorials’ new home.
Per the county’s posted announcement, the rededication will be honoring all veterans and their families.
The Committee to Renew Veterans Park earlier this summer carried out the process to relocate the Clinton County Veterans Memorial and the World War II Memorial honoring those killed in action. The Veterans Memorial has been erected in its new location, while the World War II Memorial will soon be placed in its permanent base.
The monuments had previously been located at the Clinton County Veterans Park on Water Street, across from the Clinton County Courthouse. That location will soon be home to a multi-faceted tribute to those county residents who served the United States in the military in the time of need, including those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The Water Street site was recently stripped of topsoil and the beginning of the layout is to follow. A completion date has not been announced.
