Conservation District announces workshop on land use

MILL HALL, PA – The Clinton County Conservation District has announced a free workshop to answer questions on land use, from building on it to digging in it.

Multiple questions will be answered at the event later in March:

Planning on building a home or a garage? Planning on adding an addition to your house? Buying property? Want to fix that eroding streambank? Want to install a culvert in a stream? This workshop may be for you. Do you know what plans and permits you need before you start construction? Do you know how close you can build to a stream before you need a permit? Do you know when culverts permitting and when they do not? Do you know the difference between a floodplain and a floodway and who regulates them and how each impacts your cost of construction? If you are about to buy property, do you know what to look for to determine if there might be wetlands are present? Do you know what the requirements are for building on a lot with wetlands. Would it ruin your day to pay $75,000 for a piece of property and then discover after you made the purchase that the lot was unbuildable because it had wetlands on it?

If you are thinking of buying land, building a home, working in or near a stream, or adding a driveway, swimming pool or garage, you do not want to miss this workshop hosted by the Clinton County Conservation District. The workshop will be held Tuesday, March 28 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Mary Ann Bower Learning Center (45 Cooperation Lane in Mill Hall). Registration is encouraged but not required. However, seating is limited. To register, or for additional information, please call 570-726-3798
