Optimist Roundtable 9/30

By Martha Sykes

Been spending lots of moments praying these days so I thought I would share this prayer with you all this week. No matter how busy our days can be, it is so important to take time to send up even a small word of praise or thanks to God!

Gracious and Heavenly Father, What a privilege it is to pray with confidence to you as we praise your Holy name for the gift of another day!! We know that there are many things to lift up to you as we live in a world of confusion and sometimes sadness as we struggle with the evil that is present during this time. We thank you for hearing us as we cry out to you about what we can do to make this world a better place for our children to grow up in.

We know that you are guiding the hands of those who are searching for a cure for this virus and other diseases that people are suffering from around us. Maybe these trials are your mercy in disguise. Maybe these illnesses are your way of purifying us and cleansing our soul, bringing us back to You. We sometimes forget that it is your grace and mercy that makes us who we are.

Sometimes the cares of the day seem to multiply and it seems overwhelming while it seems that the blessings get buried in our doubts. Sometimes our bodies get tired and our minds even more tired. Jesus, we just ask you to help us, show us, and direct us to where you want us to witness and where you want us to help. Give us strength as you promised us in your Holy Word. Give us the power to believe. Give us faith instead of fear. Give us grace for we know when we are weak, you are strong.

Thank you for your faithfulness, your grace, your mercy, and your unconditional love. We pray for your will to be done and all of this we ask in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior forever, AMEN
