Liberty Baptist Church of Blanchard to Celebrate 150th founding anniversary
Open House, Thanksgiving Meal, Ice Cream Social, and Hymn Sing to be held November 6th and 7th, 2021
On November 6 and November 7, 2021, the Liberty Baptist Church of Blanchard family will celebrate their 150th founding anniversary. This Sesquicentennial recognizes the organization of the believers at LBC on November 7, 1871.
“As a church family, we will celebrate this historic anniversary by giving thanks to God and praising Him for the wonderful things God has done through us, with us, and for us over these 150 years!”, stated Melissa Burd, 150th Church Anniversary Committee Chair.
Our church family is very thankful that we have been able to provide a place for Centre and Clinton county youth to gather in our multipurpose sports building. This building is used every day by numerous community youth and service groups to teach dance, basketball, volleyball, and hosting of trainings and meetings for non-profit groups.
“The theme of our celebration is ‘Rooted in Faith, Growing through Christ, Bearing Fruit in our Community’. Our theme scriptures are Isaiah 37:31 and 1 Timothy 4:6. The community is invited to join with us in our celebration on events both days or as your schedule allows.”, stated Pastor Chris Davis.
Our anniversary celebration will begin with prayer and opening of the church for review and gathering on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. Light appetizers will be available at 5:30. A special anniversary banquet will be held Saturday at 6:30 pm. During the banquet we will unveil the 150th celebration documentary “My How We Have Changed” and musical entertainment will be available during our social time that evening.
On Sunday, November 7, 2021 we will gather with coffee and donuts at 9:00 a.m. with worship beginning at 10:00 a.m. We will break for lunch on your own at local restaurants. The body will then gather at 1:30 p.m. for our brother and sister church members to join us for an ice cream social and hymn sing. Part of our celebration will include a 150th Church Anniversary Souvenir History Journal that will be distributed to those attending the services.
