George A. Dorn – Obituary
George A. Dorn, 57, passed away peacefully at home on February 25, 2021, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born in Camden, NJ, on February 12, 1964, a son of Theodore Dorn Sr. and Laura (Wallace) Long, Step-son of Ronald E. Long. George was a class of ‘83 graduate of Bucktail High School. George served his country in the United States Air Force. He was united in marriage to Catherine Weber on September 14, 1985.
George was devoted to his family, his country and his community.
He served as Fire Chief at Lowell Fire Dept., was a member of Vernon American Legion Post #404 and the Oneida County American Legion, where he served as County Commander and was a referee with Mohawk Valley Chapter NYS Certified Football Officials for many years.
George will be missed by his wife, Cathy Dorn; his two daughters and son-in-law, Kristen and Jeffrey Tallarino, of Palm Harbor, FL and Kelly Dorn, of Belleair Bluffs, FL; his beloved grandchildren, Jacob and Gabriella Tallarino; his father and stepmother, Ted and Betty Dorn, of NJ; stepfather, Ron Long, of PA; two brothers and a sister, Ted Dorn, Diana Dorn and Steve Long, of PA; his step-siblings and their families; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and special family friends.
He was predeceased by his mother, Laura Long.
Services were held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service.
