Dunnstown Fire Company Escorted Santa Through Woodward Township
By Christopher Miller
Like the postal service, neither the cold nor the snow could keep Santa Claus from visiting the neighborhoods in Woodward Township on Saturday afternoon.
Clothed in his red suit and sporting a beard “as white as snow,” and riding on the back of what appeared to be an old military escort vehicle-turned township fire transport truck, Santa Claus paraded his way from neighborhood to neighborhood visiting with residents and children alike.
Dunnstown Fire Company, with advanced knowledge of Santa’s arrival, made known his parade route on social media two weeks ago with turn-by-turn directions of the big man’s visit to Clinton County.
My perch on the corner of Cider Press Road and North Vista Drive afforded the excellent opportunity to wish Santa well, voice my Christmas wishes, and wave him off to see the next group of believers up the road.
His visit, though short, was to the delight of the many children, young and old, who glimpsed this surprise visit of the man in red prior to vacating the North Pole on his annual Christmas ride to visit the people of the world.
