Dolores C. Miller – Obituary

Dolores C. Miller, 86, of Mill Hall, PA passed away on September 13, 2020 at her home.

She was born on May 6, 1934 to Orley and Ruth McCombs in Clymer, PA.

She graduated from Commodore High School in Commodore, PA in 1952.

On February 20, 1955, she married Gerald O. Miller, who survives. They met when they were both working at Ralph Dotterer’s Farm.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Larry, Tom, Richard and Melvin; and two daughters, Corrine (who was stillborn) and Jerri Lynn Anastos.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, James E. (Sherry) of Mill Hall and Karl R. (Beth) of Bellefonte; a daughter, Laura D. Miller of Bellefonte; a brother, Randy; five grandchildren, Jill (Craig) Russack of Commack, NY, Kassie (Sean) Miller of Quarryville, Jacob (Michaela) Miller of Mill Hall, Kayla (Ryan) Yearick of Bellefonte, Riley Leupold of Bellefonte and Sadie Leuopold of Bellefonte; and three great grandchildren, Alex, Olivia and Anna from Commack, NY.

Dee had a number of jobs throughout her life on top of the job of full-time mother. She delivered the Lock Haven Express and the Centre Daily Times during the 1970’s and 1980’s. She worked at JC Penney and Addies, both of Lock Haven, and for Keystone Central School District in the cafeteria. Dee also babysat for her grandchildren and volunteered at the Porter Township Library for many years.

She was a hardworking, dedicated Mother.  She was always there for her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed swimming, walking, water aerobics, roller skating for many years and watching ice skating. She loved Elvis, baby dolls and porcelain dolls. She also loved going out to eat with her friends. Most of all, Dee enjoyed being with her family and took very good care of them. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Lock Haven Area YMCA Youth Scholarship Fund.
