LHU COVID-19 Count at Three


LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — The Wednesday count for COVID-19 cases at Lock Haven University stands at three, according to information on the school’s coronavirus dashboard; that’s an increase of one case from the Tuesday report.

The Wednesday report said 706 tests had been conducted with three positive results and 687 negative results for a positivity rate of 0.43 percent.
After the Tuesday posting, when the first two cases were listed, the university issued this information:

LHU currently has two positive cases of COVID-19. The individuals, two students, have been notified and are isolating off campus. Students have been instructed to return home to seek medical treatment from their primary care physician. The University is identifying and contacting those who may have been in contact with these individuals and all areas of campus where the individuals had visited have been sanitized using enhanced cleaning protocols.
For privacy reasons, Lock Haven University will not release further details regarding the identity of the individuals.

The University will continue to monitor COVID-19 at Lock Haven University and collaborate and coordinate with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and local health agencies and providers.

Lock Haven University reminds all members of the LHU community to continue to wear a facial covering, adhere to proper social distancing, avoid large gatherings and wash hands frequently.

Students returned to campus through last weekend and classes started on Monday of this week. Most classes are being conducted online. A university spokesman said 283 students are being housed on campus but a total enrollment figure is not yet available.
