LHU Public Safety Welcomes Newest Female Officer
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — Eryn Suttle Vaughn, Lock Haven University Public Safety’s newest female officer, was sworn in on Tuesday, Jan. 28 by District Judge Keith Kibler.
Vaughn, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, began her position with LHU on Nov. 25, 2019. She attended the Mansfield University Municipal Police Academy.
“I was drawn to LHU because I have a good understanding of modern social issues the students face every day; I want to do whatever I can to benefit the community and saw an opportunity to do so at the university,” Vaughn said. “I think the campus is beautiful with the surrounding mountains and the Susquehanna River running alongside.”
Vaughn added that she is most looking forward to working alongside the students and building a positive connection with the community. In her off time, she trains Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
“I am very proud that Eryn will be part of our team,” said Tim Stringer, director of public safety and chief of police at LHU. “She went through a rigorous hiring process and comes highly recommended from staff at Mansfield University’s Municipal Police Academy. I am confident that Eryn will be a very productive asset to the Lock Haven University community.
