Dr. Amy Serafini Completes First Semester as Professor at Auburn University

AUBURN, AL – Dr. Amy Serafini has completed her first semester as Assistant Professor at Auburn University. At Auburn, Dr. Serafini is responsible for teaching, scholarship, outreach, and service in the Department of Educational Foundations, Leadership, & Technology in the College of Education. Serafini enters the professoriate with 10 years of experience as a principal in schools along the U.S./Mexico border.

Dr. Serafini’s research interests include mentoring aspiring school leaders through the use of educational leadership simulations and school leadership with a focus on special populations. Her research has been funded by the Daniel F. Breeden Endowed Grant Program, a competitive grant awarded by the Auburn University Senate Teaching Effectiveness Committee.

A native of Renovo, Pennsylvania, Serafini completed a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education at Lock Haven University and an M.Ed. Degree in Instructional Leadership at Bucknell University.

Serafini earned her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from the The University of Texas at El Paso (2016). Along with her degree, she was recognized for her contributions to the Educational Leadership & Foundations Department and was awarded the first postdoctoral fellowship in the history of the College of Education at UTEP. She achieved certification as school superintendent while completing her doctoral studies.

Dr. Amy Serafini is the daughter of William and Virginia Serafini of Renovo and is a graduate of Bucktail Area High School.
