Obituary – Timothy Paul Dobos

Timothy Paul Dobos, 36, of Mill Hall was embraced by God in Heaven on Thursday, July 11, 2024 surrounded by his family after a courageously fought 10 year battle with ALS.

Born August 22, 1987 in Meadville, PA, he was a son of the late James William and Alice Ann (Wilson) Dobos.

Tim was a 2007 graduate of Maplewood Jr./Sr High School.

He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he worked as an electronic warfare analyst with the 2nd Radio Battalion in 2008, and deployed to Kuwait in 2009 with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit.  He also assisted in relief efforts after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, which he was most proud of receiving a Humanitarian Service Medal.  During his service, Tim was stationed at Camp Lejeune as well as Lackland AFB.  He earned the rank of LCpl before being Honorably Discharged in 2012. His ALS was 100% service connected to his time in the Marine Corps. The ALS diagnosis came in April 2014.

On September 10, 2011, he married his best friend, the former Robyn Simmons, with whom he shared 12 years of marriage.  Together they were raising their three sons: Grove, Ezekiel and Leonidas.

In 2018, Tim graduated from Lock Haven University with a degree in Applied Physics with a focus on Nanotechnology and a minor in Sociology. A lifelong learner, he eagerly shared his knowledge with others.

Tim was a generous and faithful member of The Common Places Church family.

He was a member of the NRA and Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars as well as a proud supporter of Students for Liberty.

Tim loved photography and video gaming.  He was an avid Chess player.  Tim was a food aficionado with a deep appreciation for meat and cheese.

In addition to his wife, Robyn and children: Grove, Ezekiel and Leonidas Dobos, he is survived by his siblings: Alan (Shayna) Dobos, Esther (Walter) Amaya, Ruth Dobos, his identical twin: Stephen Dobos and Christopher (Ayana) Dobos as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wanted to say a very special thank you to all of the helpers and staff that have ever worked in their home or helped with Tim, especially Traci Fotorny. Your impact on his health and in his fight has been deeply appreciated.
