Clinton County Association of Township Officials has scheduled the 110th annual county convention
MACKEYVILLE, PA – The Clinton County Association of Township Officials 110th annual convention is scheduled for Thursday June 1, 2023 at the Clinton County Fairgrounds. This is the 2nd year for the convention to be held at the Fairgrounds as a trade show.
The Association is hosting a local government Trade Show day inviting businesses and vendors to promote and showcase their service/products. New this year will be an equipment rodeo. Township employee equipment operators are encouraged to register and compete to win prizes showing their skills and ability they use to operate township equipment on a daily basis.
The convention offers elected Officials an opportunity to receive information and learn how to help serve their residents and give them a chance to exchange ideas on local government concerns. All Township elected officials, staff employees, auditors, tax collectors, solicitors and engineers are offered an enjoyable day filled with fun, food and games with information from exhibits, speakers presenting updated information from state, county and local levels. There will be workshops offered, raffle drawings, 50/50, trivia game of jeopardy and a short business meeting after lunch.
There will be outside equipment vendors and inside vendor displays available at 9:00 p.m. The displays offer informative materials throughout the day. Workshops will be provided and speakers will be presenting current information needed to stay up to date. An agenda of the day’s schedule will be provided at a later date.
Workshops and programs begin at 9:30 a.m. registration fee of $20 is required by May 23 to the association.
Information and the registration form can be found on the CCATO website at www.clintoncountytownships.com A registration of $20 includes lunch at 12:30 and must be paid in advance. There will be a brief business meeting after lunch directed to township business.
Holding the event in such a large venue increases the opportunity to have unlimited guests. We encourage and welcome the public to come learn more about local government and what is involved to operate on a daily basis.
The CCATO Board sends out invitations to all 21 townships and has recently included the 7 boroughs of Clinton County. Elected officials include Supervisors, auditors, tax collectors and councilmen, approximately 175 total officials and over 100 business vendors. The board hopes to grow larger each year.
