Central Mountain boys move to 4-0 with road win over Golden Tigers, 84-70

HOLLIDAYSBURG, PA – The Central Mountain boys’ basketball team (4-0) continues to put up a ton of points and continues to win. The Wildcats won their third straight road game and fourth overall Friday night, mowing down Hollidaysburg (0-5), 84-70.

The Wildcats used a 27-7 second period splurge to open a 43-23 halftime lead on the way to the win which saw nine different CM players score in a game which allowed coach Tyler Bardo to clear his bench.

Haydn Pardoe led the way with 21 points, Jack Hanna in with 18 and Essex Taylor with 15. Fellow starters Hunter Hoy and Levi Schlesinger each contributed 8 points. Brady Myers came off the bench with 6, Xavier Persun had four and 2 each came from Jeremy Reese and Dominic Longworth.

Coach Bardo said his team played well in spurts and said the effort was a “quality performance from all.” He said there was a break in Wildcat focus for a bit in the final quarter as action got a little chippy, but the Wildcats came home with the win over a District 6 Class 5A foe.

It will be another road game Monday for the Wildcats, at Montoursville.
