William D. (“Bill”) Perri

Obituary

William D. (“Bill”) Perri passed peacefully from this earthly existence on Friday, July 8 at home surrounded by his loving, long-time partner, Michael, and Michael Foley with whom he worked and lived for many years.

He was born in Renovo in 1950, the son and only child of Frank and Ruth Perri. He grew up on 13th Street, surrounded by family and friends. His parents owned and operated the well-known and beloved “Perri’s Cafe” at the corner of Huron Avenue & 13 Street for many years. He attended St. Joseph’s Grade and High School, graduating from Bucktail Area High School with the first graduating class of 1968. After High School, he attended St. Francis College in Loretto, PA and St. Francis Seminary to prepare for the Priesthood in the Catholic Church.

Bill later joined the “Servants of the Paraclete” religious order in Jemez Springs and Albuquerque, New Mexico where he worked as an administrator and counselor/therapist to priests and other religious. He was ordained to the Priesthood by James J. Hogan, Bishop of the Diocese of Altoona/Johnstown in St. Joseph’s Church where he also offered his first Mass.

Bill earned his PhD in Clinical Psychology from the Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpentaria California after which he practiced as a Clinical Psychologist in Cherry Valley, California and St. Louis Missouri. A memorial service will be held at the local parish in Kilauea, Hi followed by the scattering of his ashes.

For the past twenty-five years, Bill lived on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. He was preceded in death by his father,

Frank Perri and mother Ruth Perri. He is survived by his life partner, Michael Kline, Michael Foley, and many nieces and nephews.
