Obituary
Patricia A. Hakin, 92, resident of Avis, passed away after a short illness on May 3, 2022 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lock Haven on February 1, 1930, she was the daughter of Frank S. Eberhart and Ruth E. Skyler Eberhart Duff and step-daughter of Guy A. Duff. Patricia lived in Lock Haven where she attended high school and graduated in 1948. Pat graduated from beauty school in Harrisburg and worked as a beautician for 3 years. She married Wallace W. Hakin on May 26, 1951 in Woolrich, and they celebrated 63 years of marriage before his death in May 2014. Pat spent her years as a wonderful and active stay-at-home mom.
Pat was an avid golfer and spent many hours golfing at Clinton Country Club and Belles Springs Golf Course, where she had the privilege of making a hole-in-one on the 8th hole on August 15, 1995! She loved spending time with her family and had a witty sense of humor. She thoroughly enjoyed time on her front porch, knitting and playing cards.
She is survived by her five children: Kim Andrus (James) of Hobe Sound, Florida, Connie Thompson of Jersey Shore, Wally Lee Hakin of Lock Haven, Pamela Moriarity (Patrick), and Craig Hakin (Chris) of Avis. She is survived by a brother Thomas G. Duff of New Jersey and a brother-in-law Lynn V. Hakin of Mill Hall. She was predeceased by sisters, H. Louise McDowell of Arizona and Jean Smith of Woolrich as well as, son-in-law Thomas Thompson of Jersey Shore. She leaves behind eight grandchildren: Abby and Christopher (Morgan) Andrus, Eric Thompson (Lindsay) and Jodie Chappel (Travis), Patrick (Keri) and Chad Moriarity, Courtney Loffredo (Joe)and Makenzie Hakin; ten great-grandchildren: Landon and Ryland Chappel, River, Crew and Lyla Thompson, Brayden, Jackson and Emery Loffredoand Hannah and Kade Moriarity. A niece, Bonnie Probst, of Lock Haven also survives.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
