Fallen Centre County tow truck operator to be honored by fellow tow truckers
STATE COLLEGE, PA – The Boalsburg Fire Company has extended an invitation to tow truck and emergency vehicle operators to join in a Friday funeral procession for a longtime Centre County tow truck operator who lost his life in a tragic accident on Interstate 80 on Nov. 6.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday at 1 p.m. at the Koch Funeral Home on S. Atherton Street in State College for James Paul “Jim” Corl of State College. The 80-year-old Corl was killed while in the process of removing a disabled semi-trailer in Greene Township, Clinton County.
The Boalsburg Fire Company, on its Facebook page, said towing and emergency vehicles will be part of the funeral procession “to honor Jim and his family.” The procession following the Friday service will be from the funeral home to the Pine Hall Cemetery off W. College Avenue near State College.
Corl was owner of Valley GMC Sales and Service and Valley Truck & Trailer Sales & Service.
