Obituary
Jeffrey L. McGowan, , 54, 8 Thompson Lane, Renovo, PA died July 1, 2021 at the Bucktail Medical Center, S. Renovo, PA after a yearlong fight with cancer. Born July 7, 1966 in Lock Haven, PA he was the son of Jeanne Darrin McGowan who survives in S. Renovo, PA and the late James “Hippo” McGowan.
Jeff was a 1984 graduate of the Bucktail Area High School and was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force from 1985-1989 as an Avionics Electronic Technician and had been stationed in S. Korea.
Following his military service he had lived and worked in Newport News, VA area and after returning to the Renovo area was employed by various railway maintenance companies. Jeff was passionate about everything sports especially golf and his beloved Miami Dolphins.
More recently, he enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Emily, who was the light of his life. They spent many hours over the years enjoying music, sports, traveling, and attending concerts in New York City, Pittsburgh, Niagara Falls and more.
Jeff is survived by his mother, his daughter, Emily Evelyn Rose McGowan, one sister, Jodi (Raleigh) Walker, El Paso, TX, brothers James (Tammy Noth) McGowan, Jr. Clintonville, PA and Michael (Diane) McGowan, Greensburg, PA. Also, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is being planned and will be announced when confirmed.
