Obituary

Carol Susan Aikey, 72, of Mill Hall passed away Thursday, June 10, 2021 at her home with loved ones by her side.

Born March 30, 1949 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Verna (Walker) Jones.

Susan played in the Bald Eagle Nittany High School band before graduating in 1967.

On April 7, 1978, she married her love, William E. Aikey, with whom she shared 43 years of marriage.

Susan was employed as a medical receptionist at the Geisinger Clinic, Lock Haven until her retirement in 2011.

She attended the former Fairpoint Church, Mill Hall.

Susan enjoyed flowers and gardening as well as traveling with her sisters-in-law.  She was a great cook, making the best macaroni and potato salads as well as baker, baking the most delicious sugar cookies and cakes.  She also liked canning.

Susan loved to spend time at her camp, Iron Bridge.

Most of all, she cherished her family.  Her grandchildren could always count on her being in attendance at their school and sporting events.

In addition to her husband, William Aikey of Mill Hall, she is survived by five children: Terri Rine, Wanda (Harv) Andrews, Thomas (Tiffany) Aikey, Susan Aikey and Brian Aikey; her brothers: Kenny (Lori) Jones and Gary (Robin) Joes as well as her twin brother, Johnny (Patti) Jones; eight grandchildren: Ashley Gates-Brown, Katelyn Smith, Landin Rine, Lorrin Rine, Olivia Andrews, Lane Aikey, Matthew Ault and Claire Andrews; three great grandchildren: Mila Cruz Blazina, Asher Young and Zola Brown; and her loyal dog, Libby.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Jones.

Following her wishes, there will be no services.
