LHU’s Amir Hinton Named to PSAC East First Team

LOCK HAVEN – Redshirt-sophomore Amir Hinton (Philadelphia/Abington) of the Lock Haven University men’s basketball team has been named to the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East First Team.
 
He earned a spot on the First Team as a guard. Last year’s PSAC East Freshman of the Year, Hinton is now a two-time First Team selection.
 
Hinton averaged 23.4 points per game, which ranked second in the PSAC and 10th in Division II. His 585 points ranked third in the league, and he reached the 1,000-point mark this season, becoming the fastest player in PSAC history to do so.
 
Hinton averaged 6.7 rebounds per game and had three point-rebound double-doubles on the season. In all (25GP/24 GS), Hinton scored in double figures in every game including a season-best 47 points vs. California (Pa.) on January 8.
 
He also finished with 70 assists (2.8/game) and his 2.4 steals per game led the PSAC and ranked 10th in the NCAA (DII).
 
After two seasons, Hinton has scored 1,227 points.
