Intermediate League under Consideration

BEECH CREEK – Keystone Little League is considering participation in Little League’s Intermediate division next season.

League officials have called a meeting for the Mill Hall Fire Hall this Sunday at 6:30 p.m. for further discussion. Parents of 12 and 13 year old players are invited to attend.

A league spokesman said the new division would allow 12 year olds to play at a higher level and 13 year olds to get accustomed to a larger playing field.

Intermediate field dimensions are baselines of 70 feet, as opposed to 60 feet in Little League and 90 feet at the next level up.

2014 will be the second year for Little League International to sanction the intermediate division.
