Obituary – Martha Jane Kitchen
Martha Jane Kitchen, 89, of Blanchard, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024, with her family by her side.
Born in Blanchard on May 8, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Dallis and Iona Heverly Kline.
Martha retired from Woolrich Woolen Mills after 35 years of service. She then worked as a Bus Aide for Bitner Busing and Susquehanna Transit for 15 years.
On November 27, 1968 at Blanchard Liberty Baptist Church she married William H. Kitchen, who preceded her in death December 16, 1988.
Martha was a life member of the Blanchard Liberty Baptist Church and a member of the Beech Creek American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She found her greatest joy in spending time and sharing stories from her past with her family; especially her beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Martha is survived by her brother, Donald (Dorothy) Kline of Blanchard; a sister-in-law, Mary Kline of Howard; three grandchildren, Jamie (Travis) Shade of Blanchard, Rob Workman of Blanchard and Leslie (Bryan) Healy of Abington; three great grandchildren, Emily (Adam) Shade, Seth (Vanessa) Shade and Joey Miller, all of Blanchard; and two great-great grandchildren, Cooper Shade and Eldon Kleckner, both of Blanchard.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy Hipple; and four siblings, Samuel Kline, Sherman Kline, Lucille Miller and Helen Phillips.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 11 A.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745 with Pastor David Sowers officiating.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 A.M. until the time of the service.
Private burial will take place at Blanchard Liberty Baptist Cemetery.
