Altons, Area Coaches Honored by PWCA

BOALSBURG-The 55th edition of the Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches’ Hall of Fame (PWCA) took place at the Boalsburg Mountain View Country Club on Sunday with over 200 in attendance. Local wrestling contributor and PWCA Board member Norm Palovscik was involved serving as MC. Mr. Palovcsik was a former administrator at Bald Eagle-Nittany and Central Mountain High Schools. PWCA president Pat Berzonski (Chestnut Ridge) and Gene Waas (Easton) also played integral roles in the event.

Two former Central Mountain standout brothers Andrew and Dylan Alton were among the ten honored. Both were four-time placewinners in the PIAA State Championships (2007-2010) and both were key members on the 2010 PIAA Individual State Championship team. This group joined over 500 others in the state to be honored by the PWCA.

Also honored were Biff Walizer as the Class AAA 2024 Coach-of-the-Year and Doug Buckwalter Class AAA Assistant Coach-of-the-Year.
