LHU’s Kern scores twice, Field Hockey blanks Queens on the road
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Alexis Kern pitched a shutout and the Lock Haven field hockey team pitched a shutout to secure a 3-0 victory over Queens in a non-conference game on Sunday morning (Oct. 27).
Kern found the back of the cage twice for her first two scores of the season. The senior kicked off the scoring in the 25th minute, before adding an insurance goal late in the second half.
Melanie Beall also scored as she found the back of the cage for her team-leading fifth time. Constanza Lopez Zabala dished out an assist on the goal.
The Bald Eagles dominated possession and finished with a game-high 21 shots, while limiting queens to two shots on the other end.
In cage, Kelsey Felix made on save in 55 minutes, before handing over keeper duties to Maja Halasz. The duo held Queens off the scoreboard to combine for the shutout.
The Bald Eagles improve to 3-14 on the season and Queens falls to 2-12.

The Bald Eagles return home on Friday (Nov. 1) at noon and will host Saint Louis in an Atlantic-10 contest at Charlotte Smith Field.
