Obituary – Lynn Grieb

Lynn Grieb, 88, of Aspen Lane, Mill Hall, formerly of Flemington, PA passed away May 27, 2024 at the Williamsport Hospital UPMC.  Lynn had been in declining health.  He was born in Lock Haven, July 10, 1935 to the late Donald A and Bernice Linn Grieb.

Lynn was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Claire Long who passed away, February 19, 2020.  They were united in marriage on June 23, 1962 in Mackeyville, PA.

Lynn had been a very active in the area having served as the treasurer for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he and his wife had been very active.  He had also served as treasurer for the Bald Eagle Beagle Club in Mill Hall for many years and had been heavily involved with Trout Unlimited & Ducks Unlimited. Lynn had also taught Hunter Safety in the area for many years and was a proud member of the Gideons Society.  He was active with Flemington and Lamar youth baseball leagues.

Lynn had served as head teacher for Castanea and Porter Township Elementary Schools and then became a full-time teacher, retiring from Porter Township.

Survivors include one son, Brian L. (Michelle) Grieb of San Francisco CA.,  two grandsons, Colm Lynn Grieb and Conor Donald Grieb.  He is also survived by his companion,  Nancy Karichner. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Hoffman

Funeral services for Lynn Grieb will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 12:00 noon at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall, PA.

Interment will be in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.  Family and friends will be received in the church, Friday morning from 10:00 am until the time of services.  Officiating will be Lay Minister Edward Coup.

The family suggests memorial contributions in Lynn’s name be made to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
