Lock Haven YMCA Gymnastics Team Celebrates Season Successes at Fiesta-Themed Banquet
LOCK HAVEN-The Lock Haven YMCA Gymnastics Team held an end of season banquet to celebrate individual achievement from the 2023-24 season. Medals were given out to the gymnasts who made an extra effort. The All-Around gymnast for A Team was given to Harper Conklin who had the highest all-around average for the season. The All-Around gymnast for B Team was given to Abby Immel for the highest all-around total for the B Team. With Abby’s all-around total she was moved from the B Team to the A Team for the 2024-25 season. The Beam Queen award for the most beam routine sticks went to Peyton Leitch. The Powerhouse Award went to Evelyn Nestor for the biggest vaults. Most Improved went to Chloe Seiffert for gaining the most skills and bringing team points in her first season. Beam of Light went to Brennah McKinney for always bringing sunshine into the gym and keeping things fun. Peyton Murray received an award for the Most Supportive Teammate. This teammate cheers and encourages everyone to do their best and sometimes is the loudest one in the Lynx corner. The Coach’s award was a tie; both Allie Weaver and Ruby Richard earned this award for consistency and being productive in the gym every practice. The team voted for the gymnast who was always there for them and someone they go to for help with skills and questions, so the Teammate Award was given to Devon Hefferon.
Each gymnast was given a banner and a pin with the number of years they have been on the team. Gymnasts who performed new skills at a meet without a spot were given equipment pins. The parents decorated the banquet in a Fiesta Theme and tacos were plentiful while the yearend video was played. The team is accepting new members until September. A youth summer camp is being held at the Y from June 10-14 as a fundraiser for the team; registration is open, and the camp is sponsored by Woodlands Bank.
