LOCK HAVEN – UPMC Susquehanna Lock Haven medical staff recently celebrated the completion of the emergency department renovation with a special ribbon cutting. The renovation involved a complete update of the 1,500 square feet of lobby area including new flooring, ceiling, lighting, paint, furniture, signage, and the creation of a welcome desk.

“We are committed to creating a modernized, healing environment throughout the campus, improving patient and staff safety, and providing a welcoming experience to those in need of our services,” said Ron Reynolds, president of UPMC Susquehanna Lock Haven. “The completion of this project is the first of three significant facility upgrades planned for 2019.

Other projects include a complete modernization of our operating room suites, significant exterior improvements to the parking lots addressing traffic and pedestrian safety, and improved way-finding for the campus. Our goal is to provide quality care combined with an outstanding patient experience making us the hospital of choice for patients in the region.”

“I’m impressed by UPMC’s commitment to not just the hospital, but to the community of Lock Haven and Clinton County,” said Raj Patel, M.D., chief of medical staff, UPMC Susquehanna Lock Haven. “The emergency department project is just the beginning of what’s to come for the modernizing of health care here. It’s been a pleasure seeing this come to fruition and I look forward to the future here in Lock Haven.”
