Bardo Led Wildcats Drop Bellefonte 65-45

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – It was a memorable night for first-year coach Tyler Bardo as he led the Wildcats to a win on his debut as head coach for Central Mountain. It wasn’t an easy task as the first opponent was District 6 rival Red Raiders from Bellefonte. Bardo had his crew ready and the ‘Cats earned a decisive 65-45 win to set the tone for the new season and his new career.

Central Mountain jumped out to a 13-8 lead in the first quarter and built on that momentum outpacing Bellefonte 16-11 in the second quarter to hold a 29-19 advantage at the break.

Bellefonte battled back in the third quarter keeping pace with Central Mountain but the ‘Cats held a 17-16 advantage for the period and a 46-37 lead. In the fourth quarter, the Wildcats brought back the pressure and nearly doubled up on the Read Raiders 19-10 for the final victory at 65-45.

Colin Jones led the way for CM with 25 points including 7 from the penalty stripe. Matt Storeman knocked down 13 for the Wildcats. Trevor Hanna had 9 points Tyler Adair adding 8 more points and Isaiah McCann dropped ion 4 points. Tanner Lavelle, Conner SDoo and J.T. Pentz all had 1 foul shot to their credit to round out the scoring.

Central Mountain will next see action on the road at Hollidaysburg on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017.
