Hulet to Lead Wildcat Tennis Team

cm-volleyballBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP — Central Mountain boys’ tennis coach Pete Wert had a major grin just about the time the new school year started last Labor Day or so.

It was about that time that Wert learned he would have the services of Thomas Hulet, an exchange student from Belgium, to be a part of his spring 2014 tennis team.

Wert remains quite pleased with what he has seen of Hulet in the interim.

Already installed at number one on the Wildcat team, Hulet is described by his coach as “a very skilled player…one who should be competitive against all the teams we play.”

The Wildcats have 15 players competing this spring, about half of them first-year players.

Two letter-winners return in seniors Zach High and Seth Wert. High is doing double-duty, competing in both track and tennis; the younger Wert did not play a lot of singles a year ago but played a major role in doubles.

As this point, coach Wert said, he is anxious for some good weather in preparation for the scheduled season opener, home at the Gibson Tennis Complex this Thursday with Clearfield.

This season will be the Wildcats’ second and last as an independent, entering the District 4-based Heartland Conference next year.
