Castanea Township Plans Halloween Parade

CASTANEA, PA-The Castanea Township Recreation Committee announces the 3rd Annual Halloween Parade on Sunday, October 29th beginning at 4:00 pm on Brown Street. The parade will run the length of Brown Street and turn onto McElhattan Avenue ending at the Castanea Fire Company. Parade planners are seeking costumed individuals, families and couples to walk in parade, bands, civic and youth groups, decorated new and classic vehicles, tractors, hot rods, motorcycles and riding mowers, police, fire and emergency vehicles, and sport teams. Parade formation will begin at 3:00 pm on Brown Street near Solvay USA, Inc. Prizes will be awarded in multiple categories. Those wishing to enter the judging contest should register with volunteer at formation area and be assigned numbers. The Train Station Restaurant at the corner of Logan Avenue and Brown Street will be selling funnel cakes during the parade.
