Phoenix notch another volleyball win

LOGANTON, PA – The Sugar Valley Lady Phoenix picked up their second win of the season Friday night by beating St. Josephs Catholic Academy by a score of 3 sets to 2.

The girls jumped out to a hot start, taking the first two sets by 25-22 and 25-22. The Wolfpack wasn’t going to go down without a fight and took the next two sets 25-18 and 25-20. With the fifth and final set of the night, SV sophomore Lilian Downing scored the last three points to take the last set 15-13 and win the match for the resurgent Phoenix squad.

The girls are back in action this week, visiting South Williamsport on Tuesday and hosting Loyalsock on Thursday.
